Name the calculation
Say that you are counting one player’s remaining cards under the named reference. The result is a hand value, not a running table score or proof of who won the round.
Check one card at a time
Use the remaining-hand calculator and compare each selected card with the physical hand. A card must not be selected twice in a single-deck example. If a player’s version uses a different value, stop and check the chosen source instead of adjusting silently.
Read back the result
Have another player confirm the selection and total. Keeping the visible list beside the number makes an incorrect selection easier to notice than looking only at a large sum.
Preserve context elsewhere
This tool does not keep a multi-round scorebook. If you record the result separately, label the player, round and scoring convention. Calculator selections reset on reload.
