The central rule
Ordinary cards match the top card’s suit or rank. An eight is wild and declares a suit; after it, play follows the declared suit or another eight.
Explain the condition first
Say whether the top card is ordinary or wild before comparing a candidate. The printed suit of an eight is not a substitute for remembering what was declared. Use a visible suit marker during a practice if that makes the state easier to explain.
Try a bounded example
The practice tool compares a top card and a distinct candidate. It does not run a full turn, draw cards or apply special-card variants. An allowed match is not a claim that the move is strategically best.
